It's not easy being Green
So one of my resolutions in life, not just for the year…is to be green. No, not the color, but meaning more environmentally friendly. It wasn’t on my new years resolution list for that very reason. I want it to be a life change.
Whitney is very green, and very conscious of the world around her, and reminds me that I should do the same. And not in a cultish way mind you. She’s right. And so are people like Micki.
But what can EYE do? How can EYE make a difference? Well, I can. And so can you. Lets pick some low hanging fruit.
For example, Whitney uses re-usable bags at the supermarket. Do we jump off a bridge if we forget to bring them? No. But she tries hard to remember every time. That’s something small that could potentially make a dent in making this planet last a bit longer if everyone bought into it.
Also, I’m an evangelist for public transportation, especially in big cities. It just makes sense. Why fog up our atmosphere with any more crap than we have to? Why not consolidate our crap. Plus you can meet new people and overhear really wacky shit. I love it.
But I’m not doing enough. I want to do more. It’s hard to break old habits, but I know in my heart that I have to. We all have to. And it’s not scientology or some weird cult. It’s common sense. And I’m the #1 person to screw up and not do my part.
I am willing to try my best.
What do you do to try and be more green? Please comment if you have a moment!!!
